Community Highlights: Meet Eric Vandendriessche of B-BOARD®
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Eric Vandendriessche, with approximately 20 years of experience as a group exercise instructor and personal trainer, I’ve developed a deep love for promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. I’m thrilled to be in the USA working for Studio Brava, an American Physical Therapy studio located in Los Angeles (90025).
Inspired by the spirit of Biarritz/Bayonne where I come from, and my passion for paddle boarding, I invented with the support of my family, two unique fitness programs. The first, AQUA STAND UP®, is a water-based program specifically designed for swimming pools, offering a one-of-a-kind workout experience. The second, B-BOARD®, brings the essence of paddle boarding to solid ground, allowing individuals to enjoy similar movements and exercises in a land-based setting.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges for any company is to succeed in spreading the word effectively and let clients know you’re on the market, ready to offer services. This is especially important when you’re offering unique fitness/yoga classes like B-BOARD®. We believe that gaining visibility through these channels will significantly boost awareness and credibility for our innovative product.
The Covid Pandemic was the worst part of our development! There were no more sales as everybody was stuck inside. Unfortunately, at that time, we weren’t ready to offer at-home services as our website wasn’t designed for it yet. Now, we are happy to offer this additional service for people who want to purchase their B-BOARD®/AQUA STAND UP® and practice from the comfort of their homes. This new offering allows us to cater to a broader audience and provide a convenient solution for those who prefer to work out in the comfort of their own space.
